Company Overview
Based in Colorado, Dispatch Bike is a customization-focused cycling e-commerce brand. They are renowned for helping cyclists personalize their bikes with unique components (especially headset caps) and cycling gear.
They market themselves not just as a parts retailer, but as an entity that allows bikers to express their passion and personality through bike customization.
Since 2017, they have highly talented and creative in-house illustrators that have designed thousands of headset caps.
Client’s Challenges
When the client got in touch with Bidbat, he already had a good reputation in his niche. But he was not happy with the conversion rate. He wanted to see if someone could help him boost sales and make his business more profitable.
We assigned one of our high-performing Shopify virtual assistants, called Alon. He had a quick interview with the client to understand his concerns and goals; then he got to work immediately.
What Our Ecommerce VA Did
1. Keyword Implementation & Content Optimization
The first thing Alon did was optimizing product descriptions with targeted keywords to improve search visibility. For example, the “Bigfoot Hiding Custom Bike Top Cap” product was replaced with keywords like “custom bike headset cap,” “MTB bike stem cap,” and “6061 aluminum cap;” along with a narrative about Bigfoot to engage users.
Since he targeted relevant bike accessory keywords, this made Dispatch Bike’s products more discoverable to potential customers.
2. Adding Product & Color Variants
Then he added several product variants. One example is the bike top cap, which now includes 13 color options (e.g. Black, Blue, Burnt Orange, Pink) with 2 sub-variants each (size or design), totaling 2,354 units in inventory.
Impact:
This strategy increased product discoverability and improved user experience since it catered to different customer preferences.
3. Meta Title, Description & URL Optimization
Next, he revised and optimized SEO tags and URLs of all pages.
Impact: This not only increased impressions but also click-through rates.
4. Navigation & Menu Enhancements
In this step, Alon created and organized navigation menus to improve user experience, including “Main Menu New” (Shop, Best Sellers, How It Works?, Customize Your Bicycle, Create Custom Headset Caps), “Header Menu” (Shop, Best Sellers, Customize Your Bicycle, Custom Headset Caps), “Footer Support” (FAQ, Accessibility, Returns & Refunds), and “Categories-Menu Items” (Headset Caps, Ultimate Kit, Shapeshifter).
Impact: Since he made key pages and categories easily accessible, this improved site crawlability for better SEO performance.
5. Setting up Collections
Then he organized products by categorizing them into collections for easier browsing, such as “Gifts For Cyclists” (139 products), “Best Selling Bicycle Headset Caps & Bar End Plugs” (187 products), “Headset Caps” (104 products), “Custom Handlebar End Plugs” (15 products), and “Stickers and Pins” (19 products), among others.
Impact:
This improved site structure and user navigation while boosting internal linking and customer engagement.
6. New Page Creation
He also added new essential pages that were missing before, including Privacy policy, Shipping policy, Returns & refunds policy, FAQs, among others.
Impact: This increased indexable pages and supported broader keyword targeting (e.g., shipping terms and installation guides)
7. Apps & Sales Channels Integration
This was an important step. Alon carefully Integrated apps and sales channels, including Google & YouTube (for ads), Klaviyo (email and SMS marketing), Judge.me Reviews (customer reviews), Simprosys Google Shopping Feed (product syncing), GOAFFPRO (affiliate marketing), and UpCart Drawer (cart enhancement), among others.
Impact: This directly improved store functionality, customer engagement, and sales opportunities.
8. Domain Setup
He configured a custom domain for branding and SEO. He did this by setting checkout.dispatch.bike as the primary domain, with additional domains like www.dispatch.bike.
Impact: This helped strengthen brand identity with a custom domain (dispatch.bike). But there were still connection issues that needed to be solved for proper functionality.
9. Google Search Console Setup
After that, Alon integrated and configured Google Search Console for SEO monitoring.
Impact: With this essential setup, he tracked indexing errors and keyword performance.
10. Google Merchant Center Integration
Then he added products to Google Merchant Center for shopping visibility. The best part was 1,622 out of 1,623 products and variants were approved for listing via Google.
Impact: This drove additional traffic to the site.
Aside from these, Alon also did other things to optimize the store. Some of those are:
Tax Configuration
Shipping & Delivery Setup
Blog Posting
Theme Customization
